It's basically a 1/4th instrument cable to midi output converter. Play any instrument with a 1/4th output cable through this and you can play it through any midi device such as keyboards, synths, and electronic drum kits. The G2M is a pretty amazing device. The note tracking on it is single note only, but it still track note bends and harmonics. As long as you can play your instrument clean and differentiate between notes without too many ringing out the G2M will work like a pro.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.petersontuners.com/images/content/g2m_usage_map1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.petersontuners.com/images/content/g2m_usage_map1.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.ausmidi.com/images/G2M-MIDI%20OUT.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="243" src="http://www.ausmidi.com/images/G2M-MIDI%20OUT.JPG" width="320" /></a> Along with being able to plug into any midi device it's fairly easy to go to your local electronic store and pick up a midi to usb cable, which mean computerized capabilities for your instrument of choice. I really have been wanting to buy both for these for quite a while for the main reason that I would be able to run my guitar through my computer and through any number of the soft-synths I own. That means crazy ass pro-53 sounds with some awesome modulated Massive (to be detailed later) bass lines. ALL ON GUITAR. Oh and if you were wondering, yes it can run through turntables and be mixed while being played real-time.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="http://www.synthtopia.com/content/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/usb-midi-cable.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="145" src="http://www.synthtopia.com/content/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/usb-midi-cable.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Other than that there is this B2M which is basically the same thing but solely for bass guitar, which is NOT as versatile as you would think for this situation, although it would be fun to experiment with, but all in all, what you would need is the G2M and a pitch adjuster. (easy)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://images.thomann.de/pics/prod/242517.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="259" src="http://images.thomann.de/pics/prod/242517.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> It even looks similar! But isn't as cool!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">That's all for now guys, until next time.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><a href="http://www.synthtopia.com/content/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/usb-midi-cable.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a>Fraxxurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09767432884488287601noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4520849727770734904.post-51594722179357729032010-11-04T12:11:00.000-07:002010-11-04T12:11:12.166-07:002010-11-04T12:11:12.166-07:00Music, Music, and more Music!<div style="text-align: center;">How is it going this afternoon everyone? Little bit of a chilly overcast day today up in Arcata, so why not chill, smoke a bowl or three, and listen to some awesome music? I'll just be posting some music ranging from dubstep to electro to metal to rock to whatever. Can't be too musically diverse now can we!! Let's kick it off with some fucking Bassnectar.</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
<object height="385" width="480"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5M-jOZRe0-8?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5M-jOZRe0-8?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Now for some MORE awesome music. I'm sure most people reading this have at least HEARD of Cage the Elephant. These guys can rip it up. I haven't heard such a unique, new band within the past 10 years besides them. Love the blues roots and the awesome syncopation and tightness the drummer/bassist have. This band is a force to be reckoned with.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><object height="385" width="480"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3SMsnsOU0as?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3SMsnsOU0as?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Coheed and Cambria.<br />
Fuck you, nothing else needs to be said about them, just listen to it. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><object height="385" width="480"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/S4-0UvCfYps?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/S4-0UvCfYps?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
Now I think I'll post one of my own remixes. The volume of it is nowhere near on par because I do not have the equipment to professionally master audio tracks... yet. Should be working on that in the near future though. Check it out, let me know how you like it.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><object height="385" width="480"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WgCQiVymlUQ?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WgCQiVymlUQ?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"> That's all for now. Hope you folks reading this enjoy the music and keep it chill.</div>Fraxxurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09767432884488287601noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4520849727770734904.post-54854986409804085692010-11-03T21:55:00.000-07:002010-11-03T21:55:50.426-07:002010-11-03T21:55:50.426-07:00Drunk post at the end of the day. Fuck yeah.<div style="text-align: center;">Although I'm not usually drunk at the end of the day... still... here is some party cat for you!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://nedroid.com/imagesb/partycat02b.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://nedroid.com/imagesb/partycat02b.gif" width="321" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So now that that is over with, I'll be posting some more semi-cool stuff when I'm sober tomorrow or sometime around then. I may be looking for a job, but who really wants to hear about that? For some reason I'm posting the second party cat first. First one coming soon!!! :D Party on you awesome people.</div>Fraxxurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09767432884488287601noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4520849727770734904.post-19896328716338482352010-11-03T15:58:00.000-07:002010-11-03T16:00:43.111-07:002010-11-03T16:00:43.111-07:00Pro-53, one of the leading analog synths.<div style="text-align: center;">So I've been doing a bunch of music producing and really intricate stuff for the past couple years on the side, basically for shits and giggles. In my endeavors I have found a PLETHORA of awesome equipment and software. The very first I came across to apply to digital music production was Native Instrument's Pro-53 Synthesizer. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.musicmarketing.ca/products/images/n_i/screenshots/pro53_main.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="207" src="http://www.musicmarketing.ca/products/images/n_i/screenshots/pro53_main.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">It's a BEAUTIFUL program. The layout is nice, easy to use, everything is really straightforward, and it's very beginner friendly may I add. There isn't a ton of bullshit hidden windows and effects like almost every other complex program out there, although it does lack in some categories, but where it lacks it makes up for in AWESOME SOUNDS!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://images.conservatoriumofaudio.com/ac/faqimg/synth/sub/pro53-nativeinstruments.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="198" src="http://images.conservatoriumofaudio.com/ac/faqimg/synth/sub/pro53-nativeinstruments.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;">Sounds ranging from cheesy 80's synths to ridiculous loud and grimy analog sounds and even down to mellow square waves. boooooooop. This is just an awesome program guys. Dual oscillators with individual volume controls, separate waveforms for each, and a sync effect. Pro-53's MAIN strong point is it's absolutely flawless filter combined with the analog voices adjuster. There is an LFO but it's really not worth mentioning, neither is the mod wheel. This synth is great paired with other effects and programs, but to create an entire track with it would be... well.... redundant... All in all, Pro-53 is a very good program, however slightly lacking it may be.</div>Fraxxurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09767432884488287601noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4520849727770734904.post-29366972014410237392010-11-03T14:39:00.000-07:002010-11-03T14:39:38.841-07:002010-11-03T14:39:38.841-07:00First post EVAR!<div style="text-align: center;">Hey everyone with the time to read this!! It's DJ Fraxxure and this is going to be a good time, trust me. <u>Got a bunch of cool shit on the way. This blog will be dedicated to things like THIS!</u></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_4DkEnK-WY/TNHUjVZRs4I/AAAAAAAAAAw/JAEUnXXkEcE/s1600/if-you-see-someone-drowning-lol.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_4DkEnK-WY/TNHUjVZRs4I/AAAAAAAAAAw/JAEUnXXkEcE/s320/if-you-see-someone-drowning-lol.jpg" width="318" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

That's Native Instrument's Pro-53 softsynth by the fucking way. It's awesome, but there will be a later review on that and a bunch of other computer geek stuff.</div>Fraxxurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09767432884488287601noreply@blogger.com2
